Lord Tim and his Poet Laureate pose with
William Pitt, the sole "wodden figger"
from Dexter's "Mouseum of Grate Caricters"
to have survived intact ...

Dexter recalls his commerce
with the West Indies & the profitable
trade of bedwarmers, ultimately
sold as molasses strainers.

Standing before a mirror from his
his own collection ~ Lord Tim quotes
from "A Pickle for the Knowing Ones" ~
"I will let you know the sekret houe you
may see the Devel ~ stand on your head
before a loucking glass & take a bibel to
your bousum fast 40 owers and ...

"look in the loucking glass, there is
no Devel if you dont see the ould
fellow but I affirm you will see
that old Devel ..."

Dexter recollects his collection of clocks & the two
discuss the trials & tribulations of a tellurian's
attempts to Keep Pace with the Heavens
using humankind's instruments as
compass, calendar & chronicle ~

The Knowing Ones ask the good
question: What does Tellus tell us?
To be the Keepers of the Tides &
Tidings ~ to be the Sentient Sentinals
of the Seasons ~ Holders of Hope &
Purveyors of the Peradventure of
this Life on Earth ~ that "The Ship"
needs sail & ballast ~ wind & calm ~
wave & port ...

Passing yet another timepiece
at an ebb of the conversation's flow ~
The time grows short, the
air grows thin
& Dexter suggests the two revive
themselves "out dors" ...

The two step into the Cushing House
sally garden ~ The warmth of the Sun, the
Springtide fragrance of new growth wafting
in the air refresh "the Gratest Felosofer"
& his Poet Laureate ~ Scents reminiscent
of the Dexter House "garding" ~ its
exotic flora flourishing (with the
troublesome exception of the boxwood
evergreen which was never green) ...

His Lordship is inspired to quote from
"A Pickle for the Knowing Ones" ~
"I say keep to gether dont brak the Chane
Renoue brotherle Love Never fade Like
my box in my garding be one grate familey
give way to one A nother thous changes
is the tide hie warter & Loue warter hie
tides & Loue tids" & it is "hie tide fer
a see change in the Warter side ..."

The two decide to end their day
at the beginning ~ at Inn Street ~
rejuvenating with the juvenescence of
the Inn Street tot lot ~ a bit of
regeneration with the "yong fokes"...

Where & whence Lord Tim shares
his "refleckShuns on the Warterside
& Fourder" ~ through the "louking
glass" ~ the prism of time ~
past, present & future ...

Inspired, the two conspire to meet
with the Knowing Ones about the Plan
in Motion & the milestone
"celebration & cerebration" ...
