Implementation of the Master Plan
 
Link within to review the recently submitted nomination of the Waterside community of Newburyport as one of Essex National Heritage Area's 100 regional milestones.
 

Having solicited the implementation status of the 2001 City's Master Plan, the following is an authoritative list of the accomplishments from 2002 - 2006 under the direction of Planning Director Nick Cracknell. The Planning Office requests a prominent note that "none of this would have been possible without the dedicated efforts, critical thinking and support of the Planning Board and City Council." All told, in but four years, 2/3 of the plan has been implemented ~ codified by ordinance and currently in practice.

Land Use Regulations

LU1.1 Support Mixed-Use developments : Waterfront West Overlay District / Towle Complex Redevelopment Overlay District / Little River Transit Village (pending)

LU1.2 Increased Shared Parking : Waterfront West Overlay District and Waterfront Mixed Use District changes

LU1.3 Waivers for Off-Street Parking: Intermodal Transportation Improvement Fund (ITIF) special permit

LU2.2 Prepare a Strategic Land Use Plan for the Industrial Park: 2004 Strategic Land Use Plan
